I was jealous of Jesse's new MacBook Pro, so I installed Linux on my computer, for a lil' something new. After five days of futzing around with it, that's my new desktop (I'm running the Mepis 6.0 distribution, with fluxbox as my desktop manager). This fits perfectly into the theme of "simplifying" my life, e.g. shaving my head again, in preparation for this year of dissertation writing, which so far involves very little writing and lots of simplifying.
